These Three Words

I simply wish
that these three
words do not
lose their meaning,
that they do
not become hollow,
empty as the
black void of
space, all dark.

I simply wish
that they retain
their meaning which,
I hope, will
not fade away,
reducing these words
to a salutation
so commonly exchanged
as "Hello", "Goodbye".

I simply wish
that they will
not lose their
power, immense power,
that which can
surmount all trial,
that which can
bring darkness light.

I simply wish
that no matter
where we are,
when, or why,
that you always
will know that
I say with
all I have,
all my heart,
soul, and being,
this infinite truth.
